How it all began.... Shortly after Gary started kayaking around 20 years ago, he meet a young lady, Julie, and invited her out paddling....well, how could she resist?! In 1996 a hobby and passion turned into a business idea when Gary bought 'Mike the Bike' and started selling kayaks ! So 'Kayaks at Mike the Bike' was born - Northern Ireland's leading canoe and kayak shop.
Gary and Julie have had many paddling adventures together over the years - sea kayaking, running rivers, racing, surfing and playboating. Now they love paddling sit-on-top kayaks with family, friends and members of the 'Sit-on-Top Touring Club'. In November 2011 'Kayaks at Mike the Bike' rebranded as 'Kayak Shack'...the shop for specialist advice on kayaking and canoeing.
